Among them, brush motors are commutated by mechanical contact between the brushes and commutator, while brushless motors are detected by Hall sensors to detect the signal of the real-time running position of the winding, and then processed by microprocessors or special chips to the collected signal, real-time control of the corresponding drive circuit to control the motor winding.

Since the commutation of brushless DC motor is carried out by sensors and related circuits, there is no motor contact and wear between the brushes and commutator of this motor, so there is no need to replace the brushes and other wearable parts frequently, which can improve the performance and life of the motor and further reduce the maintenance cost.

At the same time, since there is no friction between the brushless DC motor’s brush and commutator, no electric spark will be generated before the changeover, which will greatly reduce the interference to the whole control system. However, since the current commutation of the brushless motor requires a special circuit for control, the whole control circuit will be more complicated.
