Many friends may not know much about DC motors and AC motors, the difference between the two is not very clear, but out of curiosity, looking around for answers, of course there are a lot of different sayings, Vacuz briefly give you an introduction to it!

DC motor and AC motor are both a kind of motor, running due to the action of magnetic field, and DC can be regarded as a kind of stepping motor. So what is the difference in principle between the two?

1. Motor structure is different

AC motors have a coil, the resistance of this coil is generally not very large (about 100 ohms).

The internal structure of the DC motor is mainly composed of stator and rotor, many of which used to be brush motors, the rotor has brushes, and there are Hall sensors on the motor to detect the position. The working process is constantly in alternating contact with the conversion plate, forming an alternating magnetic field and constantly rotating. DC motor volume is generally smaller than the volume of AC motor, now more brushless DC motor.

2. Different working principle

The AC supply voltage of the motor is AC, and the on/off of the motor can be controlled by AC switching elements.
For DC motor, its supply voltage is DC input, can be controlled by PWM technology. PWM is a duty cycle adjustable signal, can input different signals.

3. Different output power

DC motors generally have lower power than AC motors, especially brushless motors, which overcome many disadvantages of brushed motors, but also have their own disadvantages.
