1, Hall effect principle speed measurement method

Brushless motor shaft drives the rotation of the magnet on the shaft, thus changing the size of the magnetic field, after Hall circuit to convert the magnetic field changes into a pulse signal, by amplifying the plastic, the output rectangular pulse signal, when the speed changes, the frequency of the output pulse will change. Thus, the speed of DC gear motor rotation is obtained.

2、Photoelectric speed measurement method

Use grid disc and photoelectric gate to form a speed measurement system. When the brushless motor through the transmission part drives the grid disk rotation, speed photoelectric gate to obtain a series of pulse signals. These pulses signal through the microcontroller two timing / counter with, a count a timing. The number of pulses m per unit time is calculated, and after unit conversion, the speed of the motor rotation can be calculated.

3, the motor and ESC interface

Brush ESC with brush motor use, brush ESC often only need 4 wires, 2 is the input power terminal, received positive and negative poles. The other two are the output of the motor speed control, received on the motor’s two electrodes, through the change of current/voltage and the direction of conduction can complete the speed and positive and negative control.

Brushless ESC and brush the same reason, brushless motor needs to work, it is inevitable that a brushless ESC, between the motor and ESC is connected by two bundles of lines, red, yellow, black, the bundle of lines, is the power line, ESC will be alternating power transmission to the motor, drive the motor rotation; black group of flat lines is the signal line, the speed signal detected by the Hall sensor, transmitted to the ESC.
