Brushless motor has three coil leads and five Hall leads, the eight leads need to correspond with the corresponding leads of the controller, otherwise the motor is unable to rotate normally.

Brushless motor is more typical of mechatronics products, consisting of motor body and driver, the stator winding of the motor is usually connected with three symmetrical star, which is more similar to the three-phase asynchronous motor.

Generally speaking, 60 degree and 120 degree phase angle brushless motors, need to be driven by the corresponding phase angle brushless controller, two phase angle controller can not be directly interchangeable. 60 degree phase angle brushless motor and 60 degree phase angle controller connected between the eight wires have two connection methods, one is forward, one is reverse.

For a motor device with a phase angle of 120 degrees, by adjusting the phase sequence of the coil leads and Hall leads, there are six correct eight-wire connections between the motor and the controller, three of which are connected for motor forward and the other three for motor reverse.

If the motor reverses, it means that the phase angle of the brushless controller and the brushless motor match. We can adjust the direction of the motor in this way by swapping the Hall leads of the motor and the A and C wires of the brushless controller; at the same time, switch the main phase wires A and B of the motor and the brushless controller.

There are already intelligent brushless controllers in the market. The intelligent brushless controller has the function of automatically identifying the phase angle of the motor, and can drive motors with 60 and 120 degree phase angles at the same time.
