Generally speaking, the winding machine start current for the rated current of 3 to 5 times, and the protection device for motor current protection is set into the current speed break protection and overcurrent protection.
In the process of motor starting, the high value of current speed break plays the main protection role, so it is only necessary to check whether the high value of speed break is too low, and if it is lower than 5 times of rated current, it can be enlarged appropriately according to the requirements of the protection device manual. After amplification, when confirming that there is no other fault in the motor and related equipment, it can be started again; secondly, check whether the overcurrent tripping is caused by excessive motor load or mechanical fault. This situation usually occurs when the equipment suddenly stops during normal operation and trips when it is turned on again. At this time, the slow turning motor (mainly used for vertical mill maintenance and online welding, located on the non-load side of the winding motor, connected to the motor through the wrapping machine to the wheel) should be hooked up to the motor, so as to determine whether the motor cannot be started due to the failure of the mechanical equipment dragged by the winding machine. If the mechanical failure is excluded, the slow turning motor can be used to drag the winding motor after running for about half an hour to start the winding motor again; finally, check the motor itself or the motor starting equipment failure causes the protection device overcurrent protection.
In general, if it is the winding machine itself or starting equipment failure caused by overcurrent protection, often accompanied by differential protection. At this point, it is necessary to identify in detail which part of the problem has occurred. For the wire-wound motor itself, the insulation of the stator winding and rotor winding of the wire-wound motor can be tested by a shaking table (2500V shaking table should be used), and if there is a low insulation or a large difference, it needs to be tested and determined by a special experiment. The winding machine is usually started by liquid varistor, our company once had a situation that the motor could not be started because the static pole plate of liquid varistor fell off. Therefore, when the winding machine cannot be started normally, the liquid varistor as a starting device is also an important inspection item.
Among the reasons why the main motor cannot start normally due to differential protection of the ring wrapping machine protection device, in addition to the failure of the motor itself, most cases are caused by the differential protection line. In the actual production process, due to the large vibration of the vertical mill and other reasons, it is easy to occur due to the motor side of the current transformer terminals loose and lead to the differential protection tripping, so in the usual equipment maintenance, the motor side of the transformer terminals should be tightened as an important maintenance content.
