1、Brushless motor

Above is a brushless motor, you will see many similar models when choosing brushless motors, such as 1507, 2204, 2216, etc. The number, the first two are the stator outside diameter (mm), the last two are the stator height (mm). The more the outer diameter and height of the stator, the larger the core of the stator, the more turns the coil is wound, the more power the motor is expressed. Of course, the larger the size, the greater the power, but also the greater the weight.

As shown above, the motor is 2212, stator outer diameter is 22mm, stator height is 12mm. stator outer diameter and stator height is proportional to the power of the motor, 2218 than the 2212 motor stator height is high, is certainly the same power is also large. The significance of this size is to see the model can compare the power of the two motors, but this is generally only compared to the stator outside diameter is the same and the height is not the same, or the height is the same and the outside diameter is not the same, the stator outside diameter and height are different is difficult to compare through this model.

It should be noted that this size is the stator, not the motor external size, the thickness of the motor shell, heat dissipation bad shape, base height, etc. all affect the motor external size, so the stator size to do the power judgment than the external size to standard and reliable.

1、 KV

Brushless motor KV value is defined as the speed / V, meaning that the input voltage increases by 1 volt (V), brushless motor idling speed (rpm) increased speed value. From this definition, the voltage and motor idling speed follow a strict linear proportional relationship and are constants, regardless of the motor at that operating voltage, the relationship between voltage and speed obeys the value.

1) Calculation of idling speed

Remember, the value refers to the speed of the motor idling without a propeller and other loads in relation to the voltage, such as KV is 650, idling speed at 11.1V is 11.1 × 650 = 7215 rpm, KV value is 900, idling speed at the same voltage is 9990 rpm.

(2) the relative comparison of high and low KV value (only the same stator outer diameter and stator height of the same model, different KV value does not have much comparative significance, such as a certain brand of 2216 motor, there are 650KV, 800KV, 900KV three models)

(3) can not be compared through KV motor good or bad, can not say KV380 than KV600 good, the same model different KV value of the motor price is the same.

1, the outer rotor and inner rotor

Brushless motor according to the position of the stator, can be divided into two kinds of outer rotor and inner rotor.

(1) outer rotor: the stator is inside, the rotor is outside called outer rotor.

2）Inner rotor

Contrary to the outer rotor, the inner rotor is the stator wrapped around the rotor, and when it rotates, only the rotor rotates (the shell does not rotate). Inner rotor has less torque and high KV value.
